Confidentiality/Ethics

Confidentiality & EthicsThe work is completely confidential. Even if you have been referred by your GP, I will not disclose any of the details that emerge within the consultations unless expressly required either by yourself or in very exceptional circumstances, but even then only with your full awareness.

All psychotherapists and psychologists are bound, by our code of practice*, to receive regular supervision of our work from suitably qualified professionals. This ensures the ongoing quality of our work. Names are not used and any aspects of the work, which may reveal a person’s identity, are omitted. Apart from this professional, ethical requirement, whatever you share with me will not leave the room.

If you have any questions or concerns about this, you are very welcome to discuss this with me.

*My work is bound by the Code of Ethics as stipulated by both the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy and by the Health Care Professionals Council, which currently regulates Chartered Clinical Psychologists.
